How MaterialsMath handles data. Short version: the calculators run entirely in your browser and we never see your measurements.

The short version

MaterialsMath has no accounts, no logins, no newsletter and no contact form. We do not ask you for personal information and we have no database of visitors.

Everything you type into a calculator is processed by JavaScript running in your own browser. Those numbers are never transmitted to us or to anyone else.

What the calculators store

When you enter room measurements, the site saves a few of them in your browser's sessionStorage so that the next calculator you open is already filled in with the same dimensions.

This data:

• stays on your device and is never sent anywhere;
• contains only measurements you typed, such as a length in feet;
• is deleted automatically when you close the browser tab.

You can clear it at any time through your browser's normal "clear site data" controls.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people find useful and which are not working. It records things like the page you visited, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device you used. It does not record anything you type into a calculator.

It does not run until you say yes. A notice appears on your first visit, and until you answer it nothing is requested from Google and nothing is stored. Decline and no Google script loads at all. Change your mind later — in either direction — with Cookie settings in the footer; withdrawing consent also deletes the analytics cookies already on your device.

Google acts as a data processor for this. Their own privacy information is published at policies.google.com/privacy.

If you would rather not be counted, browser-level tracking protection and Google's own opt-out add-on both work on this site.

Advertising

This site is funded by display advertising. When advertising is running, the ad network and its partners may set cookies or use similar technologies to select and measure ads, including personalised ads where you have consented to them.

Advertising is not running yet. When it starts, the same consent notice will cover it: nothing from an ad network will load until you have agreed to it, and you will be able to change or withdraw that choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to look up, correct or delete. Any personal data processed by our analytics or advertising partners is held by them, and their policies describe how to exercise your rights against them.

Children

This site is aimed at people planning building work. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes — such as switching advertising partners — will be reflected here before they take effect.
